Gel Block Production

The Sentara Center for Healthcare Simulation and Immersive Learning (SCSIL) was working on producing another gel block phantom to simulate skin for training their medical students. I was involved in the development by contributing to the iterative design and evaluation process. The gel block underwent multiple configurations and rigorous testing before it was deemed an acceptable alternative to skin. This gel block was used for multiple experiments, including testing a prototype sonography device and benchmark testing against FDA-approved trainers.
