Examination of the Sentara Telemetry Monitoring System

This is a project report we delivered to Sentara Hospital. Sentara approached our research lab about diagnosing the strengths, weakness, and recommending improvements for their telemetry system. We started by visiting several Sentara hospitals and understanding how their telemetry system operates. We were provided data from their telemetry system from three of their hospitals. We examined this data along with root cause analysis and other error reports to create a visualization of the data using Tableau. We also conducted a literature review of telemetry with an emphasis on AI applications and centralized vs decentralized systems. Finally we used human error identification methods, such as SHERPA, to examine and predict where potential errors can occur.
